The population of Lithuania is 3.69 million and the area 65,300 km2 (population density 56.5 per km2). 68.1% of the population live in urban areas. The capital city is Vilnius (576,400 habitants), and the official language is Lithuanian. The population is composed of Lithuanians (81.6%), Russians (8.2%), Poles (6.9%) and other (3.3%).
